Southwest Airlines will launch flights to Baltimore, Houston, Nashville and Orlando from a new airport near Panama City, Florida on 23 May.

The Boeing 737 operator will serve these destinations twice daily from the recently-christened Northwest Florida Beaches International airport in Panama City Beach using a three-year revenue guarantee from The St. Joe Company to launch the routes.

St. Joe is the Florida real estate developer that donated the property for the new airport, which will replace the existing Panama City-Bay International airport.

In addition to the new Southwest service, Delta Air Lines will transfer its current Delta Connection service at the existing airport to the new facility. Connection carrier Atlantic Southeast Airlines operates daily flights from Panama City to Atlanta, while Delta's partner Pinnacle Airlines flies daily to Memphis.
