Swiss maintenance provider SR Technics is partnering Dutch aircraft painting specialist Aviation Cosmetics to conduct end-of-lease checks in Malta.

Zurich-based SR Technics says it has developed, together with Aviation Cosmetics, a business line dubbed Lease-end Transitioning Services.

Aviation Cosmetics' website indicates that its paint hangar in Malta can accommodate an Airbus A380.

SR Technics meanwhile operates a base maintenance facility for A320s and Boeing 737NGs in the Mediterranean island nation.

The MRO provider says it will conduct end-of-lease checks for A320-family types in Malta, while 777, A330 and A340 widebodies are to be supported in Zurich.

Services will include regular airframe checks and repairs, cabin refurbishment, engineering support, engine inspections and aircraft storage.

"If not handled correctly, a change of operator can cost carriers a fortune in out-of-service downtime, late fees and last-minute maintenance," says SR Technics.
