Ural Airlines has extended a maintenance agreement with SR Technics for the CFM International CFM56 engines powering Airbus A320-family jets.

SR Technics says the Russian carrier has signed a six-year deal for CFM56-5B support. The work will be carried out at the Swiss MRO provider's Zurich headquarters.

The two parties began their co-operation in 2014. SR Technics commercial chief Michael Sattler says the new agreement "strengthens our existing relationship" with Ural Airlines.

Flight Fleets Analyzer shows that Ural Airlines has seven A319s, 23 A320s and 13 A321s in service. Eight of the 43 aircraft are powered by International Aero Engines V2500s, and the rest by CFM56-5Bs.

The carrier has a further seven CFM56-powered A320s on order.
