Stonebriar Commercial Finance has relaunched its aviation investment arm as SCF Aviation Capital to include both commercial and business aviation.

The platform was previously called SCF Business Aviation says a company statement.

As part of the expansion, Stonebriar has appointed Kevin Brown vice president of portfolio management. Brown joins from CIT Group where he spent 14 years financing business jets. He will have similar responsibilities at SCF Aviation Capital. He will report to Nicholas Sandler, executive vice president and senior managing director of SFC Aviation Capital.

“The Stonebriar team is excited to be launching into the commercial aviation market along with the addition of Kevin to support Aviation Capital’s growing portfolio. His experience and strong reputation are a perfect complement to our organization’s existing knowledge and expertise in corporate and commercial aviation finance,” says Stonebriar chief executive Dave Fate in a statement.

SCF Aviation Capital, which is based in Plano,TX, has a portfolio of 64 assets as of 30 June, including the acquisition of 16 loans from CIT, the company says.
