Italian airframer Tecnam has secured an order from Seychelles-based charter company Zil Air for a P2012 Traveller, and is in talks with the operator for the purchase of a second example.

The initial aircraft will join Zil's fleet in July 2019, with the follow-on Traveller slated to arrive in 2020.

Flight Fleets Analyzer records Zil as operating five Airbus Helicopters H120s and a H145, along with a Vulcanair P68C piston-twin and a Beechcraft King Air 250 twin-engined turboprop.

The 11-seat Traveller was launched by Tecnam in 2011 and made its maiden sortie in 2016. The second flight-test aircraft joined the certification campaign in December. So far, the pair have flown nearly 300h from the airframer's headquarters in Capua, near Naples.

European and US type certification of the Lycoming TEO-540-C1A-powered twin are still scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2018, says Tecnam.

US regional carrier Cape Air is the launch customer and a co-developer of the €2.2 million ($2.6 million) high-wing Traveller, with an order for 100 units. The first examples will be delivered in early 2019.
