Star Alliance carrier Turkish Airlines has finalised an agreement with Panasonic Avionics Corporation to add high-speed wi-fi broadband internet access to its existing live, in-flight television service on transatlantic flights.

The airline and Panasonic Avionics will use its in-flight entertainment platform, PLANET, to provide passengers with access to high-speed unlimited internet with their wi-fi enabled devices.

Business travellers can also access their company's Virtual Private Network (VPN).

PLANET GCS is active on one Boeing 777-300ER aircraft with plans to expand the availability of this system to the 11 additional 777-300ERs and 10 Airbus A330-300 aircraft in its fleet, Turkish Airlines said.
