Airbus’s two main ramp-up efforts had a quiet start to 2017, with only a single A350 and two A320neos being delivered.

The January production figures disclosed by the airframer contrast with those of the previous month, December 2016, when Airbus delivered 15 A350s and 25 A320neos.

Airbus’s 25 overall deliveries for the first month of the year were dominated by the A321, of which 14 were handed over, against just five regular A320s.

Its output for the re-engined A320neo family comprised a CFM International Leap-powered aircraft for GECAS – being leased to Azul – and a Pratt & Whitney PW1100G-equipped aircraft for GoAir.

The airframer has yet to deliver the first A321neo. It secured certification for the PW1100G-powered version in December last year.

Its only A350 delivery – on the last day of January – went to Ethiopian Airlines.
