UK defence ministry publishes ‘UFO’ report today

Rob Coppinger / London

Today the UK’s Ministry of Defence will publish the report of its four-year unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP) study, codenamed Project Condign.

It can be found on the MoD’s freedom of information publication scheme web pages here;

Originally classified secret the Unidentified Aerial Phenomena in the UK Air Defence Region report was written by a MoD defence intelligence expert in 2000, the study began in 1996.

It describes unidentified flying objects (UFO) as UAPs and refers to recent plasma induced hallucination research to explain UFO witnesses’ experiences.

The report states, “that UAP exist is indisputable...[they] clearly can exhibit aerodynamic characteristics well beyond those of any known aircraft or missile - either manned or unmanned”.

It concludes that the UAP are probably rare atmospheric plasma phenomena caused by meteorites travelling through the atmosphere or unknown weather, electrically charged atmospheric conditions.

The report was discovered by Sheffield Hallam University academics David Clarke and Gary Anthony, using the UK’s freedom of information act.

Clarke has a website dedicated to UFO reports in the UK and can be found here;
