Airbus has disclosed a firm order for 25 A321neo jets, assigned to an undisclosed customer, in its latest backlog data.

The agreement was signed on 31 July, the airframer has revealed.

It has not identified the customer involved nor disclosed any powerplant choice or delivery dates for the jets.

Korean carrier Asiana Airlines stated earlier this year that it was intending to acquire 25 A321neos for its operation and that of low-cost division Air Busan.

The order was the most significant Airbus deal signed during the month; the only other came from Groupe Dubreuil for a single A330-300.

Groupe Dubreuil is the parent of Air Caraibes and had indicated last month that it planned to start a new operation, Sunline, with an A330-300 next year.

Airbus states that its net orders for the first seven months of 2015 reached 367 aircraft, following the cancellation of seven A350-900s for Singapore Airlines.

Over the same period the manufacturer delivered 353 jets including 15 A380s and four A350s.
