United Airlines has started a daily service between Washington DC and Madrid.
The US carrier will operate a Boeing 757-200 on the route, which is the only direct link between the US and Spanish capitals. until 4 September.
United already operates services to New York from Madrid, but Innovata schedules show it is one of the smallest US airlines by seat capacity operating from the Spanish city.

The flight, which incorporated nearly two-thirds of the stealth bomber fleet, was part of annual drills meant to test the US Air Force’s ability to generate sorties with Washington’s only nuclear-capable bomber capable of penetrating modern air defences.
