Sikorsky has shed its offshore suppliers in the US Navy's presidential helicopter competition, unveiling a VH-92 industry team that is so close to being wholly US-based "as to be indistinguishable from 100%", says Sikorsky president Steve Finger.

The team includes aerostructures supplier Vought Aircraft Industries, training provider FlightSafety International and communications and cabin interior supplier L-3 Communications Integrated Systems as well as aircraft defensive systems from Northrop Grumman and cockpit systems by Rockwell Collins. Absent are S-92 suppliers from Brazil, China, Japan and the UK.

Sikorsky is up against the US101 team including Lockheed Martin, AgustaWestland and Bell Helicopter Textron.
