Colgan parent Pinnacle Airlines Corporation says it is investigating an incident involving a Bombardier Q400 aircraft operated by Colgan that experienced an issue upon landing in Buffalo during a 12 May flight.

The Toronto Sun reported the Q400 lost one of its right wheels upon landing at Buffalo International airport.

A spokeswoman for Pinnacle confirms the company is “investigating what happened to the tire”, and emphasizes that all passengers deplaned safely.

The incident coincided with the start of hearings conducted by the US National Transportation Safety Board as part of its continuing investigation of a Colgan Q400 that crashed on approach to Buffalo in 12 February. Much of the three-day hearing focused on the crew’s breach of sterile cockpit rules, and the role pilot fatigue could have played in the fatal accident.
