Airbus's Tianjin A320 final assembly line aims for 26 deliveries in 2010, and plans to deliver one additional aircraft per month in 2011.
Since it delivered its first A320 to Dragon Aviation Leasing and Sichuan Airlines in June 2009, Airbus has built 33 A320s in China, of which 22 have been handed over in 2010.
Laurence Barron, president of Airbus China, says he is "absolutely confident" Tianjin will deliver its target of 26 aircraft for the year.
Airbus aims to deliver 38 aircraft from Tianjin in 2011, as the A320 output climbs to 40 aircraft per month by the first quarter of 2012 across the company's three A320 family assembly lines.
"As you can see we're moving slowly from rate two to rate three," says Barron.
Barron says Airbus holds a 43% market share of civil jetliners above 100-seats in China, which includes 640 A320 family aircraft and 90 A330/340s. He adds that the country's first A380 for China Southern Airlines will be delivered in summer 2011.
