Participants at the show in Dubai will hardly have packed their bags and headed home for the year-end celebrations before they will be getting ready to travel to Singapore for the next major date on the aerospace calendar.

The 12th presentation of Asian Aerospace will be held at the Changi Exhibition Centre (pictured above) from 24-29 February 2004.

As well as promising to be one of the biggest so far, it will be the busiest conference calendar in the show's almost quarter of a century history, with the spotlight on key sectors, such as regional security, command and control, air freight and unmanned systems.

In addition, a pioneer two-day invitation-only aviation summit on the theme ‘Fixing the Business' is to be organised by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and show organiser Asian Aerospace Pte Ltd.

The IATA-Asian Aerospace tie-up – the first of its kind at any major airshow – will be addressed by Singapore senior minister Lee Kuan Yew, who will comment on ‘Why Aviation Must Survive'.

Trixie Webster, vice-president of Asian Aerospace, said in Dubai: "The dedicated exhibition focus on key industry sectors, are a direct response to demand from our customers, as is the expansion of the specialised conferences held in association with Asian Aerospace.

"Our strategic tie-up with IATA, through the IATA-Asian Aerospace Aviation Summit, cements the importance of the Asia-Pacific region.
