Dubai-based lessor Novus Aviation Capital has launched a second junior debt fund dedicated to the financing of Airbus aircraft.

Tamweel Aviation Finance II is a partnership between Airbus, Development Bank of Japan, Nord/LB and Airbus Group Bank, says Novus.

The first fund, Tamweel Aviation Finance, was launched in 2013, backed by the same firms supporting this second iteration.

Novus will manage the fund, focusing on providing junior and mezzanine financing solutions to both airlines and leasing companies.

"We are very excited with the launch of the second edition of our junior debt platform and would like to thank our partners for their continued support," states Novus managing director Mounir Kuzbari. "The growth outlook of the airline industry along with the large delivery stream are expected to drive an increasing demand for this type of financing product."
