OMF Aircraft flew its Symphony 135-TDI diesel-engine aircraft for the first time last month from its Neubrandenburg, Germany, base. The two-seat aircraft is powered by a Thielert Aircraft Engines 135hp (100kW) Centurion 1.7 and will be targeted at markets outside North America, OMF says, where Avgas is becoming expensive and increasingly scarce. The 135-TDI is scheduled for European certification by the end of the year.
