New Zealand's Pacific Aerospace has sold the first two CT-4E primary trainers equipped with electronic flight instrument system (EFIS) cockpits and is discussing an order for another 25. Delivery is due this month to a customer in Singapore.

The new variant, fitted with Meggitt Avionics' Magic EFIS system, is the latest upgrade since the programme began in 1990. The EFIS system, also installed in the Piper Malibu Meridian, consists of three units - the primary flight display (PFD), navigation display and the air data, altitude and heading reference system. A wing-mounted probe supplies air data information to the PFD and the navigation display.
