Palestinian Airlines is to expand its regional network with new destinations, and plans to introduce 50-seat Canadair Regional Jets (CRJs).

According to chairman Fayez Haidan, the Government-owned airline hopes to launch new services this month to Dubai and Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates. Palestinian has just been accepted as a member of the Arab Air Carriers Organisation.

The Gaza Strip-based carrier operates two Fokker 50 turboprops and a Boeing 727-200, but is understood to have ordered two Bombardier CRJ-200s. The 50-seat jets will enable it to upgrade its regional services now operated by Fokker 50s.
