Now celebrating its first century of sales, the Eurocopter EC120B Colibri helicopter is making its formal debut at the show.

The single-engine EC120B is a new generation 1.5-tonne aircraft with 4/5 seats and it was designed from the outset with performance, safety, comfort and affordability in mind.

Partners in the project - Singapore Technologies Aerospace, Eurocopter of France and China's CATIC/HAMC - foresee potential sales exceeding 1,500 over the coming decade.

Key technological features of the EC120B include a vehicle engine multifunction display (VEMD) which is designed to reduce pilot workload; crash-resistant seats and fuel system; a new style of fan-in-tail rotor (fenestron) to reduce noise; and an advanced all-composite main rotor.

Singapore Technologies Aerospace has a 15% share in the project and is responsible for the design and production of the cabin doors, cargo doors, transparencies and the rear structure, with CATIC dealing with just under a quarter of the development, including the fuselage, fuel and flight control systems.
