Four US airlines that fly to Argentina are asking the US Department of Transportation to disburse to them $2.5 million in penalties that Aerolineas Argentinas has paid since January 2004 into an escrow fund. Washington ordered Aerolineas to make the payments after US carriers complained that Buenos Aires’s Ezeiza airport discriminated in favour of Aerolineas on landing fees.
