The Royal Air Force of Oman has fielded a digital imagery intelligence system for the first time on its fleet of Lockheed Martin F-16 Block 50s.
BAE Systems said on 28 November that it is completing delivery and testing of the Airborne Reconnaissance System pod (pictured below, on the aircraft's centreline stores station) to Oman, the first deployment of the system. The pod replaces wet-film intelligence-gathering equipment previously used by Oman's F-16 pilots on reconnaissance missions.

BAE was awarded the $27.5 million foreign military sales contract from Oman in 2004. The deal included the delivery of two ARS pods and a BAE ground station.
