Plextek (Hall 2B, J13) is displaying its high-performance digital signal processing and analogue conditioning boards as part of its embedded, robust digital receiver range.
The Diablo family is designed for a wide range of applications, from desktop to aircraft, and features a DSP board, with plug-in modules for radar, radio, receiver and modem applications.
Based on the 3U CompactPCI and PC Mezzanine Card (PMC) form factors, the Diablo family is easy to install and develop. Architecture is kept deliberately simple to maximise its processing capability and to make development and integration as simple as possible. A number of additional external interfaces are provided, including JTAG, RS232, RS422 and Ethernet.
Both models are available as commercial off-the-shelf products although Plextek is able to customise the basic design to meet customer requirements. Customers may also licence the design in full or part, and benefit from a low risk, rapid time-to-market option, while still retaining design ownership.
Diablo boards are designed for harsh environments with thermal management, board stiffening and a screened enclosure. They include a number of features to minimise power consumption. The processor can be programmed so that processing throughput matches the application.
Phased control of on-board switching and linear regulators provides maximum thermal efficiency and avoids peak current problems in the cardframe supplies.
