A US federal judge in North Carolina has dismissed a class action price-fixing suit over ticket commission cuts brought by a group of travel agents against most world airlines. The agents sought some $17 billion in compensation lost when the airlines "conspired to slash commissions". After the usual trebling of antitrust damages, the airlines could have been liable for about $50 billion if the agents had won.
