Precision runway-monitoring (PRM) systems are in the running to be commissioned at Minneapolis Airport and Sydney's Kingsford-Smith Airport before the end of the year. The first production version of PRM was installed and certificated at Minneapolis Airport early this year, and is expected to be commissioned before the end of 1996. The parallel-approach radar monitoring, which is virtually identical to the PRM, became operational at Kingsford-Smith Airport in June.
