Raytheon is developing a new version of its Joint Stand-Off Weapon (JSOW) designed to lower unit cost and offer additional payload options.
The JSOW Block II is being developed under a contract with US Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), and is scheduled for completion in 2006.
Improved
The Block II JSOW has a lower parts count, improved manufacturing process and anti-jam Global Positioning System (GPS).
All future JSOW variants will be based on the Block II configuration, with further developments including a 500lb BLU-111 warhead for the JSOW-A.
