Robinson Helicopter produced a record 422 aircraft in 2003, more than any other helicopter manufacturer - 128 two-seat R22s and 294 four-seat R44s - and overhauled another 46 R22s. The company, based in Torrance, California, expects sales of its piston single helicopters to be even higher this year. The weak US dollar has helped exports, the company says, and the launch of its R44 Raven II has received "an excellent market reception", with 219 produced over the year. The company also delivered 75 R44 Raven Is.
