A deal which should improve radio links for troops serving in Bosnia has been broadcast at this year's Show.
Roke Manor Research, part of Siemens Plessey Electronic Systems, has been awarded a contract by the Ministry of Defence to upgrade the HALO artillery location systems deployed with British troops serving with NATO's IFOR in Bosnia.
Existing radio links are being replaced with advanced Raven 2V combat net radios, which are designed and manufactured by Siemens Plessey Systems.
Raven 2V operates in the VHF range and supplies rapid and secure communications under all conditions.
This upgrade will enhance HALO's performance, enabling outlying acoustic sensors and Command Posts to communicate with increased effectiveness and reliability.
