Southwest adds Albany
Southwest Airlines is adding Albany in New York to its list of cities served, continuing its spread into the US north east. Flights will begin in May. Southwest, which has added seven north-east cities to its network since 1993, says expansion will continue.
Mexican Express
Continental Express will add new non-stop services from Houston, Texas, to Aguascalientes and Puebla in Mexico. The flights will begin this year.
MetroJet heads for windy city
US Airways' low-fares carrier MetroJet will add service between Boston and Chicago Midway from March. Additional flights will also be added from Boston to the Florida destinations of Fort Lauderdale, Orlando and Tampa.
TACA does the tango
The TACA Group has expanded its South American network with three weekly flights between Buenos Aires, Argentina, and San Jose, Costa Rica - one of TACA's main hubs. TACA opened a Buenos Aires office in December.
American expands Brazil services
American Airlines will add a second nonstop flight from April between its Dallas/Fort Worth hub and Sao Paulo, with continuing service to Rio de Janeiro. American will offer the service three days a week using Boeing 767-300s. American will also inaugurate nonstop service between Orlando, Florida, and Sao Paulo, with continuing serve to and from Rio de Janeiro.
