Eight more for Ryanair
Low-cost airline Ryanair has announced eight new services from this summer - seven from Stansted and one from Prestwick. The Stansted routes include twice-daily services to Hamburg and Nimes and a daily connection to Perpignan from June. The following month will see a significant increase in services to Italy, with daily services to Lamezia and Sardinia and a twice daily flight to Brescia. There will also be a twice-daily service to Malmö in Sweden. From June, the airline will operate a daily Prestwick-Frankfurt service.
TAP into Gatwick
TAP Air Portugal is launching a new London Gatwick-Lisbon service, operating daily except Saturdays. TAP already operates a service to Lisbon from London Heathrow.
New Maersk service
Denmark's Maersk Air is starting a new route between Dublin and its Billund hub in April. The daily (except Saturdays) service will be by a Boeing 757-500.
Chicago-Rome link
American Airlines is introducing a direct service between Chicago and Rome, starting in June. At the same time, the Zurich-Chicago service is being shifted to the airline's Dallas/Fort Worth hub. A second daily flight between Paris Charles de Gaulle and New York Kennedywill begin in May.
