Japan Airlines (JAL) plans to codeshare with Iberia on Amsterdam-Madrid and Amsterdam-Barcelona routes from October. JAL and KLM co-operate on the Amsterdam-Spain routes, but this would end if the JAL/Iberia link is confirmed. Continental Airlines launched the first non-stop connection between Cleveland, USA, and London Gatwick, UK, on 1 July, with a daily Boeing 757 service. Delta Air Lines launched a non-stop Atlanta, USA-Guadalajara, Mexico, daily schedule on 1 July, codesharing with Aeromexico. Hartford's Bradley Airport, in Connecticut, has been linked non-stop with Los Angeles by a new American Airlines scheduled service that began on 2 July. Sabena will begin three times weekly services from Brussels, Belgium, to Madras, India, in November, using Airbus A330-200s. The Belgian carrier will introduce its new Airbus A319s on services between Brussels and Athens on 1 September. Daily services from Brussels to Verona, Italy, will begin in September, using Avro RJs operated by subsidiary Delta Air Transport. The regional airline will also inaugurate daily services for Sabena between Brussels and Seville, Spain, on 3 October. A three times daily service between Brussels and Bremen, Germany, will begin in September, operated by Schreiner Airways under a franchise agreement with Sabena. American Eagle's Costa Rican division, Executive Airlines, is to expand its operations in the Caribbean from November, with new services from its San Juan, Puerto Rico base to Anguilla, Tortola, St Kitts and St. Maarten. Seasonal services to Granada will also start in December, while capacity will be added to Santiago in the Dominican Republic. Middle East Airlines has opened scheduled services out of its Beirut, Lebanon, base to Teheran, Iran, twice weekly. It has also boosted its non-stop frequencies to London Heathrow, UK, from five to nine a week.
