Mexicana began a twice weekly service between Oakland, California, and Zacatecas, Mexico, on 2 August. Meanwhile, the carrier's twice weekly flight between Mexico City and Orlando, Florida, via Cancun will be suspended indefinitely from 15 August. The airline will continue to operate the route on a charter basis. US Airways will launch non-stop round-trip services between New York La Guardia and Freeport, Grand Bahamas, in November subject to Bahamian government approval. China Airlines is introducing three times weekly services between Taipei and Berlin, using Airbus A340-300s. Four freighter services are now being operated weekly between Taipei and Nashville, using Boeing 747-400Fs. Cathay Pacific Airways has resumed Hong Kong-New York services after operations returned to normal following industrial action by its pilots. n Northwest Airlines began codesharing with Dutch carrier Transavia on 1 August, initially on Transavia flights to seven destinations in Italy, Morocco and Portugal. British European and ScotAirways are to codeshare on flights from London City to Edinburgh from September. Meanwhile, British European is dropping London Stansted-Belfast City services and adding an additional frequency to the Northern Ireland airport from London City next month. American Airlines began codesharing on certain TWA flights on 1 August as it integrates the carrier following their merger. American's code will be carried by TWA-crewed aircraft on flights from St Louis, Missouri, to nine US cities. On 19 September, codesharing will be expanded to TWA flights between St Louis and American's Chicago O'Hare and Dallas/Fort Worth hubs. Singapore Airlines has launched thrice-weekly services between Singapore and Chicago, via Amsterdam. Aeromexico will begin services from Salt Lake City, Utah, on 15 December, flying twice weekly to Hermosilla and to Mexico City on weekends.
