Investigators in the Dominican Republic are probing a landing occurrence at Santo Domingo during which an Embraer 190 came to rest on its nose.
The aircraft took off on 30 September from the capital’s Las Americas airport
According to the air transport regulator, Junta de Aviacion Civil, the aircraft “made an emergency landing”.
“Technical investigations are underway to determine the cause of the incident,” it adds.
It identifies the airframe involved as HI1074, which is part of the fleet of local carrier SkyHigh Dominicana.

The twinjet had not been flown for several days, according to at least two online flight-tracking portals.
They indicate that the twinjet took off from Las Americas’ runway 17, carrying out a flight along the northern coast of the republic before returning to the airport.
It subsequently aborted the approach and entered a holding pattern before landing after two further approach attempts.
Video images purportedly taken at the scene, published by local publication El Nuevo Diario, show the aircraft approaching the runway with its nose-gear doors apparently open but without the nose-gear deployed.
It also carries an official statement from SkyHigh Domincana which mentions that the aircraft was not operating a passenger service but performing an internal test flight with seven technical personnel on board, none of whom was injured. According to the statement, the nose-gear experienced a technical failure.
