In line with Farnborough International's tough security requirements, all chalets underwent a full counter-terrorism search in the days before the event began. Specialist teams from Hampshire police carried out the searches and posted notices around the site stating the requirement and leaving a phone number that exhibitors could call if they had any questions or queries. The searches continued until the early hours of this morning.
"The counter-terrorism searches are a vital part of our stringent security policy and have gone very well," said site manager Andy Coulson. "I would like to thank all the exhibitors at the site for their co-operation during the searches." Hampshire police will carry out random searches of other site facilities throughout the event.
