Shuttle lands after deployment mission

The Space Shuttle Discovery/STS 85 landed at the Kennedy Space Center, Florida on 19 August after an 11-day science, technology and Earth observation mission, which included the deployment and retrieval of the German-built Crista-Spas free-flying satellite (pictured). The Daimler-Benz Aerospace spacecraft carried instruments to study the atmosphere.
