The South Korean government plans to boost funding for its planned purchase of 40 multirole fighters after none of the bidders were able to meet Seoul's target price for the deal. Defence minister Choi Dong-Jin says the extra money will be found by juggling commitments in the present defence budget. The decision on funding is seen by industry observers as reinforcing South Korea's commitment to move forward with the delayed F-X project and make a selection by April.
