Pakistani carrier Airblue has extended its engine maintenance partnership with SR Technics until 2022.

The Swiss MRO specialist says Airblue has signed a seven-year agreement worth around $30 million, covering maintenance and overhauls for CFM International CFM56-5B engines that power the majoirty of the airline's Airbus A320-family fleet.

It follows a similar deal that was in place for seven years.

Flightglobal's Fleets Analyzer database shows Airblue has three A320s, eight A321s and a single A330.

While most of the narrowbodies are equipped with CFM56s, three A321s are fitted with International Aero Engines V2500 powerplants.

The A330 is powered by Pratt & Whitney PW4168A engines.

Airblue's deputy operations director Sadia Mohammad says the contract extension with SR Technics was an "obvious thing to do".
