ST Aerospace has secured a cabin reconfiguration contract with Air Canada for eight Airbus A330-300 aircraft.

The first aircraft will be inducted in the first quarter of 2016, with the last aircraft targeted for redelivery by end of the first quarter of 2017, says ST Aero.

The work will see additional premium economy seats being installed in the aircraft cabins, while the economy class section will be enlarged. It will also integrate the audio and video-on-demand systems will also be integrated.

At the same time, maintenance checks will be carried out on all eight A330s, it adds.

ST Aero had previously redelivered 12 Boeing 767-300s to Air Canada, after it was awarded a contract in 2013, which saw the 767s undergo a full cabin reconfiguration programme.

Flightglobal's Fleets Analyzer shows that the eight A330-300s operated by the carrier are of the 1999-2001 vintage.
