SAS has extended by five years a deal under which CAE provides training for Airbus and Boeing crews.

CAE says under the renewed agreement it will provide exclusive, long-term full-flight simulator training to the Star Alliance carrier's pilots and cabin crew for the A320, A330, A340 and 737 at facilities in Copenhagen, Oslo and Stockholm.

In addition, SAS will have access to train on CAE's A350 full-flight simulator at the flight training provider's facilities at London Gatwick airport and in Madrid. The airline's cabin crew will also continue to train in CAE's training network in the Nordics under the renewed agreement.

The training provider also plans to deploy an A320neo full-flight simulator at its Oslo facility by the second half of 2020 as part of the package.

"CAE provides an excellent training experience to our pilots and cabin crew, and we are happy to extend our agreement for another five years," states Lena Rokaas, vice-president and accountable manager for SAS. "We greatly benefit from our long-term co-operation with CAE, and we are confident that CAE will continue to deliver high-quality training."
