Go to Patty Wagstaff's personal website and you see that she describes her speciality as 'hardcore, rock and roll unlimited aerobatics'.
She usually flies an Extra 300SX specialist sports aerobatic machine, one of the world's most manoeuvrable aircraft. Which might make you think that she would find the Raytheon T-6A that she is demonstrating at the show this week rather tedious by comparison.
Apparently not. "I haven't got bored with it yet," says the six-time member of the US national aerobatics team. "It's got good spin characteristics. It's fun to fly."
While she accepts that it's "more sedate" than the aircraft she normally flies, "it's designed for what it is." And that is to take student pilots through the crucial early stages of their military flying career.
This is the third time she has displayed for Raytheon, but the first time at Farnborough, with its airspace restrictions.
"The box we fly in is very tight and there are noise restrictions because of the neighbours." But she plans to make the most of the T-6A's climbing performance in her display.
