Swiss International Air Lines is to expand services from Geneva and Basel under its summer schedule, effective 27 March to 29 October.

The carrier will increase its Geneva-Athens service to twice-daily.

It will offer a total of 10 destinations in the Mediterranean region under codeshare deals with sister airline Edelweiss Air.

In addition to Pristina, Edelweiss Air will offer flights to Heraklion, Rhodes, Kos, Las Palmas, Tenerife, Mykonos, Santorini, Larnaca and Sharm el-Sheikh.

Swiss will increase frequencies from Basel to Hamburg and Barcelona, and will offer a new daily flight to Rome and six weekly frequencies to Copenhagen.

The airline will also serve Nice four-times-weekly from Basel, effective 1 July until 22 August. Barcelona will receive an additional Saturday flight, and will be served eight times a week.

Swiss will raise capacity from Zurich to Shanghai, San Francisco and destinations in East and West Africa.

In Europe, Swiss will add seasonal services to Malaga and Palma de Mallorca.

Edelweiss Air will add Beirut, Beijing and Anchorage-Whitehorse to its long-haul services. Edelweiss Air's short-haul network will see new services offered to Chania in Greece and Dalaman in Turkey, as well as daily frequencies to Palma de Mallorca and Crete.
