Taiwan's China Airlines (CAL) has rejoined IATA 28 years after it was forced out following the country's removal from the United Nations (UN), while rival EVA Air hopes to gain membership by November. CAL has been seeking a return to IATA since the mid-1990s when the association said it planned to amend its charter to allow airlines from non-UN countries to join.
