Romanian flag carrier Tarom has firmed up plans to order Airbus A318s, with the signing of a contract for four aircraft. The A318s are set for delivery between the end of 2006 and the end of 2007. They will fly on European medium-haul services from Bucharest. Meanwhile, Airbus shareholder EADS, in collaboration with Airbus, has set up an exchange programme between French educational institutions and Romanian universities to offer two scholarships of two years each to selected Romanian students.
