Textron Aviation has beefed up its global aftermarket support offering with the acquisition of Mesa, Arizona-based Able Engineering & Component Service, along with sister company Able Aerospace.
The 34-year-old company provides repair, overhaul, exchange and replacement of components for a host of fixed- and rotary-wing aircraft, including models from Textron Aviation sister company Bell Helicopter.
While Able does not offer component support for Textron’s Cessna, Beechcraft and Hawker business and general aviation aircraft, the company says it is “exploring opportunities to expand" to include such products.
Scott Ernest, president and chief executive of Wichita, Kansas-headquartered Textron Aviation describes the Able purchase as “a natural fit” for the company and its customers. “This acquisition aligns with our strategy to enhance [maintenance, repair and overhaul] capabilities and broaden our service offerings,” he says.
“Able adds tremendous value for aircraft parts and maintenance that will reduce lead time for aircraft parts and increase aircraft availability,” he says.
