The first Super Lynx 300 for the Thai navy has made its maiden flight from AgustaWestland's Yeovil plant in the UK. Thailand ordered two aircraft in late 2001 and they will fly from 2005 from navy frigates, in anti-surface and anti-submarine warfare, search-and-rescue and maritime surveillance roles. The country will be the second Asian operator of the type, alongside Malaysia.
