Thales Avionics (Outside 18) is celebrating two major wins from European operators for its avionics equipment.
Icelandair has selected Thales to retrofit its Boeing 757 fleet with the Integrated Standby Flight Display (ISFD).
The new ISFD replaces conventional standby altimeters, gyro horizons and airspeed indicators, and incorporates solid-state sensors and a liquid crystal display.
Thales Avionics will supply a complete package including the Supplemental Type Certification (STC).
The second contract is with Luton, UK-based EasyJet, which has chosen Thales Avionics to supply various avionics equipment for its new Airbus fleet.
