Vatry airport, a freight centre 150km (90 miles) east of Paris, is the second site to bid to become the city's third international airport. Vatry, which has a 4,000m (13,200 ft) runway, follows Beauvilliers in the contest to join Roissy Charles de Gaulle and Orly. Air France is backing Vatry, which it used for several recent Concorde recertification flights.
