Turkish Airlines (THY) will launch its new budget brand Turkish Express in January, initially operating four Boeing 737-400s from Istanbul’s Sabiha Gokcen Airport, writes Tolga Ozbek.

Turkish Express will operate four 737-400s transferred from THY, and will increase the fleet to six aircraft next summer. It initially plans to fly to France, Germany and the UK, as well as to domestic tourist destinations such as Antalya, Izmir, Bodrum and Dalaman.

There will be no on-board catering and the cabin will have a high density layout.
