The UK’s Canberra photo-reconnaissance aircraft moves a step closer to leaving service this week, with the retirement on 1 September of the Royal Air Force’s last T4 trainer. Repainted in the markings of English Electric’s prototype, which first flew in May 1949, the aircraft pictured was delivered in 1954 and most recently supported the UK’s four Canberra PR9s, which will be retired next year.
