Turkey has begun the final selection of an anti-tank missile for its Bell AH-1 King Cobra attack helicopters. Alenia Marconi Systems' Brimstone, the Lockheed Martin Hellfire 2, and Rafael's NT-D are competing for an initial order for 2,400 missiles with an option for 7,000 more. A final decision is expected by March. Turkish sources say the winner will have to include technology transfer and missile assembly work for local companies. Turkey requires 50 King Cobras in an initial batch with 100 on option.
