Tenzing is to provide United Airlines with in-flight e-mail on all its US flights. The service will be via Verizon's Airfone JetConnect service at a cost of $15.98 per flight, plus $0.10 per Kb of data over 2Kb. The service is via Verizon's 9.6Kbps NATS system and will be rolled out to the 500-strong United fleet. It works by plugging a laptop into the Verizon handsets. No other software is required and passengers use their own e-mail addresses.
